Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor

We are 60 minutes from the tallest mountain range on the east coast of the USA

Acadia National Park is on Mount Desert Island, named by Champlain in 1604. Then it became the Sieur de Monts National Monument in 1916, renamed Acadia National Park in 1929. It is home to the tallest coastal mountain range in the eastern USA.

Everyone can drive or hike to the top of Cadillac Mountain where you may enjoy a 300 degree view of nearly 50 miles of coastline. It is breathtaking. Many of the finest painters in the world have come for inspiration.

There are hiking and biking trails that offer stunning vistas and lush forests with healthy indigenous vegetation and wildlife.

There are gift shops, art galleries and fine restaurants with the best seafood in the country. Tall ships offer tours. This is one reason that the state slogan of Maine is “Vacationland.”

Acadia is only a one hour drive from Belfast Bay Inn Boutique Hotel.
