Hidden Valley Camp

Hidden Valley Camp

While many children’s summer resident camps today are market driven, replicating the glitz, glamour and gadgets associated with contemporary life, other camps, like Maine’s Hidden Valley, strive to maintain long-standing traditions, offering child centered communities rich in deep-rooted values and Thoreau-inspired natural environments.

Hidden Valley, a co-ed sleepaway camp for children ages 8-14, offers an alternative because the mission-driven directors, Peter and Meg Kassen, believe their style of camp helps children grow into caring and creative adults.

Hidden Valley has its roots in the tradition of progressive children’s communities. Over the years, the Kassens have built on the camp’s history with a commitment to quality and professionalism, and a deep sensitivity to individual needs and the dynamics of group life.
